World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Features2010-02-23 00:00:00As we reported earlier in the week, the second World of Warcraft expansion is, indeed going to be Wrath of the Lich King. I was present on the show floor at BlizzCon when it was announced, as well as when they gave the first official demonstration, and I went on to get over an hour of hands-on time with it (which I will post my impressions of shortly).<br />For now, I have condensed the hour-long demonstration down to the finer points for your reading enjoyment. I know this, because I was standing about a foot behind a guy wearing a very loud and conspicuous TEN TON HAMMER jersey who was manipulating a large camera on a tripod.<br />New Continent: Northrend.<br />Dalaran has decided to move a few thousand miles for some reason, and is now the capital city of Northrend.<br />Level cap increased to 80.<br />Hero classes introduced.<br />First hero class: Death Knight<br />- Will be unlockable by any character through performing a series of quests, raiding was said to not be involved.<br />- Will not start out at level 1. They weren clear if it would start out at your character current level (presumably max) or just a mid-range level.<br />- Uses a une?system in place of rage or mana; players select runes to inscribe on their runeblade, and consume them by performing spells and abilities linked to a particular rune type.<br />- More hero classes will be added in later patches/expansions.<br />No new races or new eg...
